I landed in London a little over a month ago. This is officially the longest I’ve been away from home and it feels very weird but very exciting. I love London and everywhere in the surrounding area that I’ve been so far has been a wonderful adventure. I\u2019ve been to Stonehenge, Bath, Greenwich, and Coventry as well as just around this beautiful city I\u2019m calling home for the next three months. I am living in Camden, a very young and upcoming area, above a goth pub so I can hear the parties and loud street noise almost every night. It can be annoying but also comforting because it sounds like my room back in Sutton above the loud front door. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think I\u2019ve gotten to the point where I\u2019ve adjusted to being here because I\u2019m tired all the time, the fun and excitement that overpowered everything else has passed. My supervisor at my internship and everyone at CAPA are amazing at helping to make sure I am always doing new and exciting things even if it’s just a new project at work instead of the one I\u2019ve been working on the past few days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My internship is an experience I was both looking forward to\nand apprehensive about. I am at an opera company and I coming in I didn\u2019t know\nanything about opera or really like what I did know that much. As a theatre major,\nI have respect for it as an art form and what it has done to help theatre start\nback up after the dark ages, but I also had the impression it was for people\nlike my grandparents. Throughout my last month working with them I had learned\na lot about the art and although it is still definitely not my favorite I do\nlike it much more having seen a live performance and the amount of work that goes\ninto putting on an opera. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
