I have been able to extent hospitality and offer lodging to guests over the last week and a half. My uncle from Iowa got to visit Germany for the first time. Then a buddy of mine, whom I went to high school with, came to Munich for the weekend. I had to play tour guide during this time, but I enjoyed being the \u201cMunich local\u201d, giving insightful information as far as where to eat and what to see. Being the tour guide also gave me the chance to get to know Munich a little bit better, and to take part in \u201ctypical\u201d Munich activities such as hanging out in the beer garden and looking at sights in the inner city. I remember walking across a stately bridge with my friend on a hot summer\u2019s day and seeing thousands of people sunbathing on the bands of the picturesque Isar River.<\/p>\n

I also survived my final presentation. It was a challenge to give a twenty minute presentation in my second language, but I am glad that I had the experience. Classes are slowly winding down. In fact, Thursday is my last official day. I can\u2019t believe that I will be leaving Munich a week from today! Before then, however, I still have to finish two 10-page papers. I have plenty on my mind for the week, but I\u2019m sure I will still be able to enjoy the remaining time here.<\/p>\n
