The cultural confrontation of transportation has been hard, but knowledgeable. I have become so used to having everything within a short distance of me. It\u2019s made me become more and more aware of my surroundings. It\u2019s also made me become more confident with directions and guiding myself. Before coming here I was not at all good with directions, I used to get lost so easily and not look at where I am. Growing up in The United States I was either capable of having a car and driving myself or just walking down the street from my school in Florida. At the moment It wasn\u2019t funny, but now looking back to the first week where I got fined on the bus with my friend for not having a \u201cvalid\u201d ticket. The ticket that I had on me was a ticket the ISA staff had given me and it expired in 2021. It\u2019s now funny to look back at the moment because I was already stressed out enough about everything else hitting me all at once in the first week. However, at this point in the semester I feel more confident about how to travel around Italy especially since I have technology at my hands. Although I do not always want to rely on technology, it is handy to have it on my phone. I have several apps that are able to help me get from point A to point B, but sometimes the bus decides to not follow the usual route. I have also been on the bus sometimes where the driver just decides to take a smoke break, kick everybody off, or just randomly end their shift for the day. For example, my friends and I were trying to get back to a familiar area and we kept getting on different buses, but they all would just end up kicking us off. I am happy that I have been able to get better at directions, because Italy is definitely a fast paced environment when it comes to transportation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
