Going to Japan has always been a dream of mine, and to get the opportunity to be there for a semester has been pretty exciting for me.<\/p>\n<p>This last month of August, I&#8217;ve been visiting a lot of my family members and spending more time at home, because I definitely know I will be homesick during my time abroad. This is my first time traveling outside of the country alone, and also the first time living on my own, so I&#8217;ve been having very conflicting emotions about this semester abroad in the time leading up to my travels.<\/p>\n<p>Being a native to the Central Florida area, I&#8217;ve always enjoyed having the comforts of home and familiarity of my surroundings over the years, so it will be such a big change for me to live somewhere where I won&#8217;t know the &nbsp;language or how to get to places I&#8217;d like to go to. I know it will be a challenge, but overall I am excited to finally go to Japan after so many years of thinking about what I would do if I got the chance to go.<\/p>\n<p>I look forward to having more detailed blog posts full of new experiences, pictures, and memories to share in the future!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After many months of planning, today is finally the day I leave to study abroad in Japan!
