I cannot believe summer is ending in two days! Actually, this time I am feeling excited. Last time I recall feeling excited when the summer ended was two years ago—when I entered Rollins as a freshman. Times flies by so fast, and two years later I am exchanging to Hong Kong Baptist University for one semester.
Five years ago I came to states from China and by now I am perfectly comfortable being an “Asian American”. I have only back to China for three times during the five years and each time I go back everything changes so much and I can no longer keep up with it. Although I still have relatives in China I just feel so left out and foreign. For me, I was more of a tourist every time I walk in the cities. So I decided to come to Hong Kong for one semester since I was not able to exchange to Shanghai.
Hong Kong is absolutely a charming city in all aspects. To me, I respect Hong Kong the most for its cultural inclusiveness. It is definitely one of the most developed regions in the world and Hong Kong shows its modern through accepting people and culture from all over the world, yet she still keeps the traditions that carried down from thousand years ago. This charming mixture of culture makes me believe that I can still be who I am and learn more about the country that I’m from.
This summer is packed for me and I didn’t really have time to think about the exchange program a lot. Also, I have learned that I am the only one in this program this semester. The truth is that not a lot people ever exchanged to Hong Kong from Rollins. I wish experience this opportunity fully and share it with others.

Wow! I cannot believe summer is ending in two days!
