Before arriving to Sydney, I was hoping to receiving an internship with a company to gain some work experience and fulfill my major requirements. Luckily, I received an internship at the Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness. I absolutely love it! The people are just so laid back and nice. I am working for the Elite Athlete Program. This is the program that gives out sports scholarships. I am in charge of raising alumni involvement. Since our alumni do so much for us at Rollins, the company is hoping that I can help raise alumni support. It was interesting for me to find out that the alumni do not give back as much here as they do at Rollins. Currently I have been given the task of creating a monthly newsletter and updating the website to the newsletter. We have had some issues with the email database so the first newsletter took a little more time than anticipated. This internship has helped me learn that not everything is going to go as planned in the workplace and that I have to be flexible with whatever comes my way. There have been times where I did not know what to do and the other workers have been so helpful. Below is a picture of the gym.<\/p>\n
