Three weeks into studying abroad definitely feels like I&#8217;ve been here forever. Ive adapted to waking up for hours of Chinese class, but making sure I get my bao zi (breakfast dumplings) first. Then finishing off the day with your classes or hanging out and doing homework. If I&#8217;ve learned one thing it&#8217;s that people in Shanghai LOVE to eat out. When I say love, I mean it&#8217;s basically an every meal thing. No one stays at home to cook their meals, instead going to a nearby restaurant and becoming a regular is the norm. And don&#8217;t get me wrong, that&#8217;s probably my favourite part of living here so far: The food. Everything is cooked with real, healthy ingredients and presented so well. Don&#8217;t listen to the buzz or negativity about food here, it&#8217;s all wrong. No other food can compare (And yes, it is also false that you can&#8217;t get American food here &#8211; it exists). For now I&#8217;ll leave you all with the daydreams of food here, because it&#8217;s time for me to go meet up with my friends and have dinner \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Don&#8217;t let anybody tell you anything different.
