I always love day trips, so I knew this was a must!

We took a little over 2 hour bus ride to Stratford-Upon-Avon… aka William Shakespeare’s birthplace. This was a beautiful town, where we got to go in the home where Shakespeare was born. Although it was a little touristy, my friends and I found a cute pub, “The Old Thatch Tavern,” where I had my first fish and chips with a side of mushy peas. It was so good, and well worth the wait!

After lunch we ventured to Kenilworth Castle. I didn’t know what to expect but once we got there I saw an abundance of history being unfolded. It was very picturesque; the ruins of the castle took me back in time in a sense. I loved being able to wander around the ruins of the castle; going down in a dungeon dark room to scaling up to the highest point looking out into the vast open land, was breathtaking. There was also a garden, which has been kept up and stables that were converted into a cafe. Overall, I loved going to the ruins and actually being able to roam around the castle and imagining what it would have been like living there.

This day trip was a great venture out of the busy city!

My 1st Fish and Chips..and mushy peas

Kenilworth Castle

Saturday, October 10th CAPA took us on a day trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon and Kenilworth Castle.
