The only problem is it’s not the same change in foliage you might throw up on Instagram. This German fall weather is more of a foggy, and cloudy, and this combined with my Failed Eastern European Space Program inspired campus makes fall dreary. It’s also extremely cold, for some reason when designed the dormitory of which I life in someone thought it be a good idea to make a room with a kitchen, shower, study space, and bed with the only ventilation for air being the massive 6 foot by 6 foot window. Therefore whenever I make food, which is 3 to 4 times a day, I just get a wonderful harsh wind gust from this country in the average temperature of 40 degrees J. Outside of the weather, it’s starting to get to crunch time here in Hochschule. Since the Germans don’t want to spend their time grading papers, or tests, or worrying about homework, most classes here at Hochschule have a final test worth 50 to 60% of the final grade and some presentation of paper to fill in the rest. Let’s just say that if you don’t start preparing now you will pretty much die. Therefore going to the library is already a fight for a good seat or a study room. Also, I’ve recently learned, that if you really want to be hated by a school population as a library you could forbid backpacks and purses beyond the main entrance of the library, so people have to use supermarket grade baskets to carry all their stuff in while at the library. The combination of this and the lack of student housing makes the library an eight of what Olin is, especially since I’ve brought food multiple times at Olin.

Outside of that, let’s talk about one of the eight classes that I’m taking this semester, six of which are all in German, because you only live once. I have a thesis to write all in German due 8:00 AM Thanksgiving day. I kid you not, that this thanksgiving I’ll be writing a thesis about Accounting all in German, and afterwards going to three classes I have later that day, because you only live once.

Word count: 401 So fall is upon us, and let me tell you growing up in Florida I was excited to see the change in foliage, which all my Northeastern friends have spoken to me about.
