In an hour i will be on a plane to New York. As any person who has studied abroad knows, it changes you. This is also the case for me. I had quite a few expectations and ideas of how studying in Israel would be, yet I could not have prepared myself for what I experienced in the last five months. Israel is definitely a unique nation, one that is consistently in an international spotlight. I came into Israel with preconceived notions of how the culture and people would be, and in more than a few aspects I was proven wrong. My feelings towards Israel have stayed the same, but I have definitely been enlightened to many of the complex inner working of the society that are possible to understand without experiencing them for one’s self. Coming back to the U.S. is definitely going to be difficult, though I’m more than ready to come home. I hope that I will be able to go back to Israel one day, but who knows where life will take me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
