Joining the Otago University (OU) women’s basketball team has allowed me to meet a bunch of other female athletes like myself who love basketball and are passionate about health and fitness. It’s been really great to meet a group of girls who I can play basketball with, and hangout with on the weekends. There are a lot of basketball social events with other teams from the league and the men’s varsity teams, so it’s been a great way to meet many more athletes. It’s really going to be hard to leave OU and leave the team and my teammates behind. We’ve all become and incredibly close team on and off the court, and leaving these girls is definitely going to be the hardest part about leaving New Zealand.

About a month ago I tried out for the women’s intermural basketball team and ended up making the varsity women’s basketball team here!
