There were so many great memories that I made during my four weeks in Germany that it’s very difficult for me to choose one. I got to see so many beautiful places, made wonderful friends from several countries and continents, and was able to eat delicious foods from all around Europe. I was fortunate enough to travel to four different countries during the duration of my Sommer Deutschland trip: Germany, Poland, Holland, and Belgium. Although I had many wonderful experiences in these four countries, my lasting memory isn’t necessarily a positive one. When I traveled to Berlin, I stayed overnight in a hostel. When I woke up the next morning, I was very itchy and realized that my bed was infested with bed bugs. I’ve definitely never experienced anything like that before. My travels to Germany have always been very sheltered due to the fact that I’m always visiting with family whenever I’m there. However, this was my first trip to Germany during which I didn’t stay with family or people who could ensure that there wouldn’t be any travel mishaps. Although my bed bug bites were very painful, I’m almost glad that I had that experience. My friends and I had to check out of our hostel around midnight and find a new hotel in Berlin in the middle of the night, which is virtually impossible. It was a struggle, but we were able to do it. I feel like a seasoned traveler now, which is something I wasn’t able to say before. I’m so thankful to have been part of this trip, and it is definitely a summer that I won’t ever forget!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
