To be completely frank, I am very nervous; I’ve never been out the country, but it has always been a dream of mine to travel to Europe’s biggest cities–especially London.

I am confident that I have made the right decisions in preparing myself. I reached out to other Rollins students who have participated in the program in the past for tips (shoutout to Hannah Sneden and Erin Cover), I contacted the Global Opportunities office at the school with any questions I had, and I connected with one of my flat mates who assisted me in anyway she could. Taking these measures has definitely eased my reservations. The only worries I have pressing my mind at this time are learning how to navigate the tube and finding the right cell phone plan for while I am over there. I wish I was going to London with a SIM card that would allow me to communicate with my family back home and that would help me navigate the city right away. I will try to touch on these two topics in future blog posts to help anyone in the future.

While I am at QMUL, I hope that I do well in my studies, meet new people, and explore as much of London as possible. In the end, however, I really just want to be able to look back and be thrilled with my decision to go abroad like so many other Rollins students have.

After months of preparation, it is finally time for me to leave for London.
