As you can imagine having never lived outside of Florida, I became overly excited when it happened. At first, I was confused and thought to myself, “Okay, this is either really tiny hail or it’s actually snowing!” After confirmation from a friend used to Connecticut winters, I proceeded to pull out my phone and snapchat the exciting moment. I also began to apologize in advance because I know I’m not going to stop talking about the fact that it’s snowing. I’ll do the same here; I’m sorry, but not really. It’s snow!<\/p>\n
Besides that happening, my week is going pretty exciting and busy. This week is Reading Week, but there is a two-day job fair to attend and lots of work to catch up on. I have mixed feelings about the job fair, though. These things are slightly intimidating back home (where it’s in English too) but here it’s more daunting. Hopefully, my German skills don’t fail me, and my awkwardness doesn’t shine through too much. But if it does, I’m praying that it is just enough to come off as endearing. To take our minds off of the job fair, the other Americans studying here and I are having an “Election Day Party.” Do we care strongly about politics or is it just an excuse to cook\/eat American style finger foods late into the night? I think it’s a little of both. The six-hour time difference means we’ll be staying up until 5-7 am, but the anxiety brought on by this election will surely keep us wide awake!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Yesterday, I saw snow for the first time that wasn’t the fake soap kind Orlando theme parks like to use for effect.
