The town was one of the few mountains open during the Thanksgiving holiday because a lot of the Alps, hadn’t gotten much snow. I am an avid snowboarder so it was really nice to finally escape the city life and craze of Rome to get to a quiet town. Being on top of the Alps was an incredible experience and a moment I will never forget. The skiing conditions were pretty good, and I met a lot of people who I was able to tag along with and we went to the terrain parks, and did some racing. I did travel alone, so having the chance to ride with locals was awesome because we weren’t able to communicate very well (as I do not speak a lick of German), and they didn’t speak very good English. It was an awesome experience.

I would personally suggest traveling alone at some point. Being alone include a lot of self-discovery and well needed time alone. More people in our day and age don’t give themselves an opportunity to just sit in places and absorb their surroundings completely. Especially being in small places like Innsbruck and Sölden, I was really able to like get in tune with nature, and the shear beauty of the Alps, which I thought was an incredible experience. So I would suggest traveling alone, but you must must must be smart at all times.

In Austria, after being in Innsbruck, I went to a town called Sölden.
