And here in the UK Christmas basically begins the day after Halloween because there is no Thanksgiving! While I did miss Thanksgiving, I do like how Christmas is basically two months here instead of one. I even got a little tree for our flat! There are decorations all over the city. Lights everywhere, I mean everywhere. Outside every tube station and especially in the Piccadilly Circus area (because it’s a huge outdoor area to shop). It’s so beautiful especially at night! I live close to the Westfield Mall (which is the one of the biggest malls in Europe) and there is a skating rink INSIDE the mall…that’s right inside! London really goes all out during the Christmas season. Last week I even went to the Winter Wonderland Christmas Markets\/Festival. It somewhat mimics the Christmas markets in Germany and France and the European countries. Something else I love about being in London this time of year: the weather! Being from Florida I’ve never experienced a cold Christmas time. It’s normally still stifling hot at this time of year. It’s been in the 40’s and 30’s here and I’m loving it! makes it seem more festive. Feels more like a “white christmas”, which I dream about having one day. Also love visiting Harrods this time of year. It’s the mecca of Christmas gifts. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15699 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_7847-240x300-240x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
It’s Christmas time again!
