I took a day-trip to Oxford on Saturday and toured the iconic Christ Church with some fellow exchange students. The previous weekend I went on a weekend trip to Paris with CAPA; it is unbelievable that England and France are only two hours away from each other by train. And two weekends ago, I went on an excursion to Stonehenge and Bath.<\/p>\n<p>Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument\u00a0that required over thirty million hours of labor to complete. The newly renovated visitor center had a panoramic film that illustrated the monument&#8217;s three\u00a0 construction stages, and an exhibit of artifacts from\u00a0the Druids\u00a0\u2015the Celtic tribe that are believed to have\u00a0built Stonehenge.<\/p>\n<p>Bath was my favorite part of the trip. The cultural heritage city is stuck in a time warp with its regency architecture, roman baths, and cobble-stoned \u00a0streets. In the 19th century, Bath was renowned as a resort town, where illustrious men would hide away their mistresses and the upperclass would host elegant balls. When venturing through the alleyways filled with tearooms and quaint shops, I felt like a sophisticated heiress stuck in a Jane Austen novel.
