The university courses are challenging but very intriguing, and I feel like I’m learning a lot here. Academics are mostly self-guided. Classes are only once a week, which is great because it gives me days off. However, students are expected to remain self-motivated and do the work without constantly being asked. The readings aren’t too overwhelming, so I have a lot of free time to explore and relax on my days off. On the other hand, London is everything I thought it would be. It’s a multicultural, colorful city, despite the cloudy days. The tube was daunting at first, but as I’ve taken it almost every day, I’ve found it’s quite simple and easy to navigate. London is charming, with its markets, old buildings, and caf\u00e9s, and I never run out of places to explore. As someone who doesn’t actively visit museums, I’ve found myself in a few already. Museums like the V&A are free to the public and have great collections of artifacts and art. I’ve really begun to appreciate the relationship between the city and its residents. So many nationalities are represented in one city, and I’m constantly being exposed to new ways of life and perspectives I hadn’t thought of.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
It’s been nearly three weeks since the start of my semester at QMUL, and it has been amazing so far.
