I always keep my bus pass in my jacket pocket, where it’s easily accessible but stashed deep inside so it won’t fall out. I also keep my phone, gloves, keys and “klein Geld” (change) in my jacket pocket. For some reason, the bus ticket was the only thing I lost today and I’m not quite sure how it happened but that’s money that I lost somewhere in the streets of Münster that I probably will never get back. Was für ein Pech! Anyway, I’ll have to figure out a way to make it right somehow. Otherwise, things are going quite well. Münster is a cool city in the Northern part of the region Nord-Rhein Westfalen where bikes have the right of way, always. Kapito, where we are taking a German intensive course for four weeks, is a very interesting place to learn. People come from all over the world for all different reasons to learn German and depending on everyone’s knowledge of the language, we try our best to communicate with each other. Everyone I’ve met, including the teachers and staff, have been incredibly nice and it is fascinating to hear everyone’s story and learn about their culture and society in their own countries. I’ve become quite familiar with the bus system, places to eat and shop but there is still so much to learn about Münster in the remaining three weeks I have left here. I’m hoping to see an opera in every city I visit in Germany, but unfortunately, Münster won’t be performing any during the time I’m here. I did, however see Don Giovanni in Düsseldorf on Saturday night and I enjoyed it very much. I’m also hoping to become familiar with some of the music schools here in Germany, since I am hoping to come back after graduation and study opera here. I’m pretty much living the life in Germany: speaking German everyday, drinking yummy red and white wine, seeing operas and concerts in the evening and eating delicious baked goods from the bakeries. All that’s out of place is the fact that I basically lost 50 Euros today, oh and it’s cold! But, this is definitely the life for an opera singer, in my opinion, as long as I keep my scarf tight around my throat! 🙂

Just as things were starting to become easy and I was finally starting to feel comfortable with a daily routine, I lost my month bus ticket… and the month just started, yesterday.
