{"id":8000,"date":"2017-05-01T07:27:13","date_gmt":"2017-05-01T11:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/social.rollins.edu\/wpsites\/letters\/?p=8000"},"modified":"2019-07-15T17:55:32","modified_gmt":"2019-07-15T17:55:32","slug":"blog-2-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/2017\/05\/01\/blog-2-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Blog 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I arrived in the Queenstown airport and found the leaders of the TEAN program that were there to take a bus load of us to our hostel just outside the center of town.&nbsp; Once we arrived I met up with my friend from Rollins who arrived a few days before me.&nbsp; I got acquainted with the people that I would be spending the rest of the semester with and some from other universities on the North Island.&nbsp; We spent the week in Queenstown doing a wide variety of fun activities including hiking the Ben Lomond Trail, jet boating with Dart River, and wine tasting.&nbsp; My favorite time was hiking the Ben Lomond Trail because of how challenging and rewarding it was.&nbsp; It was an eight-hour hike that wasn\u2019t very difficult until the last hour, which could\u2019ve been done in 15 minutes if not for the steep incline and sketchy surface.&nbsp; The summit was breathtakingly gorgeous looking out above the clouds, but my legs could barely support my body by the time we got back to the bottom.&nbsp; Fast forward to the end of the week, when we left for Dunedin. &nbsp;We had made a few good friends that were attending a different university so the goodbyes weren\u2019t fun, but we all decided we had to visit each other\u2019s University.&nbsp; Arriving in Dunedin, I met my Kiwi host (Claudia) and we got to know one another at a casual party next door to our flat.&nbsp; I quickly found out that we have a lot in common and we\u2019ll make great flatmates.&nbsp; As the rest of my flatmates (all of them Americans) they arrived over the next 2 days we spent time relaxing, partying, and trying to learn more about each other.&nbsp; By the end of the first week together we all felt very comfortable and enjoyed spending time together, especially cooking our communal dinners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I arrived in the Queenstown airport and found the leaders of the TEAN program that were there to take a bus load of us to our hostel just outside the center of town.&nbsp; Once we arrived I met up with my friend from Rollins who arrived a few days before me.&nbsp; I got acquainted&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":83,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[29],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-8000","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-otago"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8000","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/83"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=8000"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8000\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":15231,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8000\/revisions\/15231"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=8000"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=8000"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.rollins.edu\/letters\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=8000"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
