I\u2019ve been thinking a lot lately about how I\u2019ve been adjusting the city, because without a doubt I have. I remember my first time on the metro, early in the morning, unsure where my school was, a little scared and a little nervous. I saw all the people around me, the Parisians, garbed in black and sleepy eyed. Silly enough, for a second I wondered if they ever smiled.<\/p>\n
And at this point I have of course seen them smile. I\u2019ve even made a couple of them smile, with my jokes or precious French mistakes. But I\u2019m also just more comfortable. I sit on the metro, and I know where I\u2019m going, and I feel okay. I walk around the quartier of my school, and I know where things are. I feel adjusted. I know how to blend in here, and I can exist without friction.
\nI can definitely feel my French improving too. I\u2019ve learned so many new words, and how to form different sentences. Am I fluent? Goodness, no. But I\u2019m getting better. And that\u2019s great.<\/p>\n
I finally saw the Eiffel Tour! About time, right? I went down to the Trocadero, and saw it up close for the first time. It was cool, but I prefer Notre Dame.<\/p>\n
The travel never seems to stop, because tomorrow we go to Normandy. But I\u2019m not complaining, because I love to travel. I never did it too much before, and Paris is my first time abroad. But it seems so easy over here, and I\u2019ve got all these trips lined up. So many things to be excited for!<\/p>\n
Speaking of excitement, I\u2019m so excited for Spring Break. I\u2019m going to Rome for four days with a friend I made here, and then I\u2019m going to London for a whole week by myself. I\u2019m a little nervous for it being all by myself, but I\u2019m so excited to be there for a week! What a dream!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
