I’ve missed my family, my home, and Florida’s summer heat for months- so it’s good to be back. But I really just miss it. I miss the life-long friends I made, my ridiculously messyat (but not the kitchen- which was a science experiment in itself), the Dunedin lifestyle, the residents, New Zealand’s vivid skies and landscapes… It kind of feels like it was a dream. Or that I got launched into a time warp. After spending months living in a separate hemisphere and just about to enter the icy thralls of winter, I’ve been sling-shot back into the land of eternal summer. I feel like I’ve lived an entire lifetime while I was away- I’ve changed and grown in so many ways. But back here, everyone is still the same; it’s as if I never left them. It really is great to be home and I feel that I have so much to forward to; but right now what I’m really craving is $10 curry night with my flatmates followed by going home to hate-watch the Bachelor NZ and giggle and argue until 1am with some of the greatest people I’ve ever met.

I’ve been back in the States for a few weeks now and it’s been bitter sweet.
