So this is it. I am leaving for Rome. I am not sure what to expect… after an amazing trip to Thailand this summer I am hoping that I fall in love with Italy just as much. Everyone keeps saying, “Oh, you’ll love it.” Hopefully I do.<\/p>\n
It’s a strange feeling knowing that I will be gone for so long. I am nervous to learn a new language, but I know it will be easy once I’ve been there for a month of two. When I was in Thailand, the language seemed very hard at first but I quickly picked it up. Hopefully it is the same.<\/p>\n
At this point I am not scared to go, I am more anxious to be there. I have been waiting all spring semester, all summer and all day to fly out. It’s crazy how long I have been planning this and it is finally coming true. When I was younger I would always dream of traveling, and this summer was just the beginning of an amazing year. Looking back at how far I have come since freshman year of college, when I was nervous to move to Florida, to now I am going overseas alone. It is surreal.<\/p>\n
This semester I hope to spend less time on my phone. I want to stop worrying about the little things happening back home, and enjoy the moment. When I was in Thailand, I spent too much time looking at what was happening on social media. After a long day of school I would lay in my bed and scroll through instagram, facebook, twitter, snapchat, etc. While in Italy I am hoping to break this bad habit and limit my phone usage. I also hope to try new things. I want to travel around Europe, see and do new things, try new food and overall be open minded to the unexcepted.<\/p>\n
The first thing I want to do when I get to Italy is drink some coffee, eat something yummy and walk around. I should be arriving around 8am, so I will have all day to explore. Jet lag isn’t a thing when you have good coffee!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
