Here we go, today’s the day!!<\/p>\n
I can’t believe its finally here. When people would ask where I was going after having to try to explain to them where Oviedo is, when I barely knew myself, they would always follow up with “are you nervous?”. My immediate response would be, “no not at all”. I couldn’t wait for all the adventures ahead, all I am going to learn, and everyone I’m going to meet. Now that all the craziness and stress of packing and getting ready, saying goodbye to friends, my parents, and my brother has settled and I am sitting at the gate waiting for the long flight ahead, I realize that I am nervous. I know I have done everything I needed to get ready; seeing all my friends and family, having an awesome summer, reaching my savings goal after working my butt off all summer, buying everything I needed, figuring out some health issues, and packing more than I could imagine. I learned it is impossible to ever be truly ready for the adventure that lies ahead. This is the beauty of studying abroad and exploring the world on your own. I have no idea what this adventure will bring me, but that makes me nervous and excited, I can’t wait! I have the ability to go with the flow and live by the seat of my pants so to speak. The world is literally my oyster!!! (sorry for all the cliques) I’m especially excited to live with my host mom, proficiently learn another language, and see a part of the world I would never imagine being able to visit. I am so fortunate that Rollins has allowed me this opportunity. I can’t thank the study abroad office enough along with my family and friends for being so supportive and encouraging. I couldn’t have done it without you all! And Adam if you’re reading this: You make me brave. I can’t thank you enough for always being my biggest fan. Never doubt yourself, you can do this too someday. Keep making me proud!!<\/p>\n
