Like my school work, I left my packing to the very last second. For a few weeks my fellow Paris peers have been texting and posting about packing, which probably should have been a good hint that I should start. Unfortunately I did not take the hint and I continued to ignore the signs.<\/p>\n
Last night I found myself just getting started, less than 12 hours before my plane took off. I would not recommend my life choices as I am completely exhausted yet too worried to sleep in fear of having forgot something. Have no fear though, I have a five hour layover to try and figure out what I might be missing. The good news is I for sure have my passport and though I came extremely close to forgetting a convertor, I have that too. Everything else is pretty replaceable. If I were going to a developing country, that might not be as true however, Paris is not exactly rural.<\/p>\n
Another exciting reason not to leave it to the last minute is that I just threw things in. Most of which I will probably not end up using. In the end my suitcase was 56.5 pounds and I was slapped with a $200 fee. Not my finest moment to say the least. To give myself credit, I think at least 20 of those pounds are gifts I brought for my host family so they won’t come back with me. I also have a feeling I will be sending a fair amount of things home with my mom when she comes to visit in November.<\/p>\n
I am excited to see what France will bring and how it will impact my life. I know after studying abroad this summer for less than a month I changed significantly so four months is a whole new ball game.<\/p>\n
As for now I get to spend five hours in the Chicago airport waiting for my flight. There are not a lot of downfalls of living in Aspen, but the fact that there are extremely limited flights is for sure one of them. I can’t say I was pleased to leave at 7:45 in the morning, only to sit around waiting for another five hours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
