I have been dreaming of going to London ever since I was a little girl and my dream is about to come true! But before I embark on this journey one obstacle stands in my way; packing. I have been trying to pack for the past three weeks. Starting with laying out all of the clothes I already own and deciding which to bring. Then the harder part was deciding which pairs of shoes to bring. This starts to get a little difficult because the airline I am flying has a 50 pounds limit on the checked bags, therefore significantly lowering the number of shoes I could bring.<\/p>\n
After I saw what I had, I put together a list of things I need to buy. I am from Connecticut and this means the temperatures in both London and here are similar. Which makes it easier for me to know what clothes to bring\/buy to be most prepared for the weather in London. The next step after I have bought all the remaining clothes I needed was to get started on packing my suit case.<\/p>\n
I am bringing one check bag, a carry on and a backpack. I decided to put my heavy shoes in a carry on bag so they would take up weight in my check bag. The carry on bag was easy to pack, the check bag, on the other hand, was a little more difficult. My first attempt to fit all my clothes in failed, I now know the reason was due to the fact that I folded my clothes instead of rolling. In my next attempt I was successful in fitting all of the desired clothing in my bag by using the military shirt roll technique, the only downside was that when I weighed my suitcase it weighed 61 pounds, meaning it was overweight. I tried to get rid of some of the heavier stuff and I came to the unfortunate conclusion that I had to unpack my clothes and try and narrow it down even more. At first I was discouraged by this but then I reminded myself that I am going to be in London where there are incredible shops where I could buy some more clothes if I am unable to fit everything. With this in mind, I was able to make my luggage under 50 pounds, fortunately avoiding the overweight fee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
