\nI have finished up my first full month here in Rome, Italy, and it’s been amazing. This is my second study abroad, so I had a very clear idea of what to expect when going to a foreign country. Although, Rome is very different from Spain in many good ways. I connect more with the Italian culture than I did Spanish without a doubt. I love the city vibe of Rome and how there is always something to do. In Rome, you can hop on a tram and end up in several different piazzas where hundreds of people go and socialize. Not to mention the amount of food that is here. I have already made a friend with a pizza maker in a pizza shop. Within the first week of Rome, I travelled to Croatia which was unbelievably beautiful and a very different change of scenery. During this trip, I made more friends with students from American Rome University as well as other American students in other universities in Rome and Florence. This trip was definitely something I did not know I needed until I made it to the beach. After Croatia, I remained in Italy where I became used to the public transportation and the culture. I have explored major symbols for Rome and Italian culture including the Pantheon, Colosseum, and Piazza Vencia. I also have really enjoyed being a student at AUR because I have met so many great friends from all around the United States that I have made plans to travel with while we are here. I also love my roommates that I have been given. The students in this program definitely make it very enjoyable. Lastly, I went on a weekend trip with ISA, to Sorento and Capri. This was a great experience because the trip was completely planned out. All I had to do was show up basically and it was quiet relaxing. The best part was in Capri a group of friends and I took a boat tour around the island and swam in the sea and it was definitely bucket list item. I have had more than enough fun so far, and it’s only been one month. I am excited to see what else is in store!
