The funny thing is, I couldn\u2019t find any books in it. I quickly realized I was in the visitor\u2019s section of the Library of Congress, and if I wanted to read any books, I would have to get a library card (so those are good for something!) and head to one of the many reading rooms. Also, I can\u2019t check anything out\u2014that\u2019s illegal, and security is a lot stricter than at most libraries. However, I can, if I want to, read almost any document published in the United States. Every publisher, it seems, must send a copy of everything they publish to the Library of Congress, as it\u2019s also where the US Copyright Office is located. If knowledge is power, the Library of Congress is lit as it gets.
