To say I hit the ground running would be an understatement when referring to my introduction to the UK. I’ve done so much in my time here already I’ve hardly had time to sleep, and honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve seen Big Ben and the London Eye, Westminster Abbey and Kensington Palace. I’ve been inside Buckingham Palace and walked through so many gorgeous gardens and parks. I feel like I’ve done so much already, but at the same time, I feel like I haven’t even made a dent in everything there is to do and see here in London.

Despite all the running around and sightseeing though, I feel like I’ve gotten into a routine and couldn’t feel more comfortable here. My flat mates and I get along so well and have become fast friends, which is nice because it means we have a comfortable environment to come home to after a long day of classes and interning.

Speaking of which, I love my classes here. In my detective fiction class, we took a Sherlock Holmes walking tour around London to see places that Sir Arthur Conon Doyle went and set some of Sherlock’s stories! I’m also taking a Shakespeare class which I love. I’ve even had the opportunity to see King Lear at the Globe already which was incredible, and the actor who played Lear in the play was in Pirates of the Caribbean! As one of my favorite movies, I was pretty excited to discover King Lear was being played by Mr. Gibbs.

In addition to seeing Shakespeare’s plays at the Globe, I was also fortunate enough to get to see the RADA’s performance of Hamet starring Tom Hiddleston which was AMAZING and one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Tom Hiddleston…just saying. ALSO I GOT TO SEE HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD. Although, I wasn’t a big fan of the story when I read the book, watching it on stage was a totally different experience. All the special effects were so seamlessly done, and the acting was so wonderful. I laughed, cried, and fangirled throughout the entirety of the play.

While I know Sweeney Todd meant it in a completely different way, I have to say that there is truth to the song that I have been singing relentlessly since I’ve arrived. There really is “No Place Like London.”

I can’t believe I’ve been here for over a month already.
