Calling in from across the Pond:<\/p>\n

It’s officially been a month, a whole four weeks of Londoning, making big mistakes, finding new dear friends, exploring fairy tale towns, trying to look like a local, and eating all the good food\u00a0possible. A month in, and I still find my draw dropping at certain moments, because I am living a dream. For those at home following along, I’ve compiled a list of what happens when you spread your wings:<\/p>\n

*cue Dream On by Aerosmith*<\/p>\n

  1. Traveling on a budget is rough<\/li>\n
  2. Traveling on a budget creates wild memories that you would never have if you were rolling up with a traveling tour group.<\/li>\n
  3. Britons love to curse. A lot.<\/li>\n
  4. People make trips. Not places. Not what you see or don’t see. People, my friends.<\/li>\n
  5. Sleep is important, unless you are on an adventure. Then you can sleep on the way home.<\/li>\n
  6. Take care of your feet, they are carrying you around the world and the least you can do for them is give them a decent pair of comfortable shoes, sheesh.<\/li>\n
  7. If someone ever asks you if you would like free tea or coffee, the answer is always “YES, with cream please.”<\/li>\n
  8. Certain things will never be as good as they were at home, e.g. peanut butter, classes, professors, but that\u00a0only should make you grateful and call home every now and then.<\/li>\n
  9. Certain things (i.e. MOST things) are 1000x better in England<\/li>\n
  10. Connecting with people in these foreign countries is the most rewarding thing you could ever do.<\/li>\n
  11. Last minute decisions can be the best decisions.<\/li>\n
  12. Arrive 15 minutes early to everything, 30 minutes early if you are traveling, and 2.5 days early if you are flying EasyJet.<\/li>\n
  13. Convenience is key my friends. What you “save” in going a little out of the way you will spend all over by trying to get there.<\/li>\n
  14. Trust no map until you have cross referenced every bus stop,\u00a0street crossing, and timetable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Well, that is all for right now. But needless to say after being in London for four weeks, traveling to Oxford, Paris, the Cotswolds, and having a gaggle of bestest friends\/guests visit you… every moment has been full to the brim of life and laughter, sometimes nervous how-did-this-happen-to-us-again laughter.<\/p>\n
