Well I hope you guess from the title, it’s midterms week here in Athens. And though I’d done enough tests in my life, these were probably one of the most stress. What it all came down to was that I had no idea how harsh these exams would be. Being at Rollins I’d gotten used to the expectation of my classes because the professors follow a certain level of harshness. Here, with these professors (experts in their areas), I wasn’t sure how hard they would make them. It also made me realize that though I’m going my classes and whatnot, I haven’t been stressed out here. Usually I would have stressed about assignments at Rollins, but here the stress atmosphere had been non-existent, that is until mid-terms hit. I’ve done 1\/4, and feel prepared for the rest, but it’s still the stress of it all that makes exams worse.<\/p>\n
Apart from that, Greece continues to grow and me, from the people, to the food, every week I find\/do something that makes me happy I chose to come here; a perfect fit. Imagining being back at Rollins is hard sometimes though, and I start feeling sad that I won’t find places like these in the states. It’s also hard to believe there’s only two more months left. Coming to study here I felt like I would have all the time in the world, but now I feel like it’s gone by too quick.<\/p>\n
Next week we’re taking a trip to the Peloponnese Island, the longest trip we’ve yet to do. I’m excited for there is all the Ancient Greek sites like Sparta and Olympus, but having already done two of these trips I know how exhausting it all is. They also tell us that it’ll be colder starting next week, meaning the Greek sun will disappear behind rain and cold winds. Going to school in Florida, let’s say I’m not necessarily happy about this. A common theme around us Tars here in Athens is how many of us didn’t bring lots of warm sweaters and shirts.
