Banned Books Week

Banned Books Week is an annual event organized by the American Library Association and celebrated by libraries across the country to bring awareness to issues affecting censorship and our freedom to read. In our era of increased polarization of thought and expression, often fueled by the very media sources we are urged to trust, it is vital that we keep our ears and minds open to a diversity of voices and ideas, even if we find them disagreeable or unfamiliar. This is what global citizenship and lifelong learning look like.
