Most recently, Thuvia served as the Adult, Family & Youth Programs Coordinator at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center (CVC) in Washington D.C. During her tenure there, Thuvia oversaw the education team\u2019s efforts to design and build out an interactive youth learning gallery titled Democracy Lab<\/em> as part of the CVC\u2019s Exhibition Hall Redesign Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As well as being a K-12 gallery educator at the National Portrait Gallery, Thuvia was part of the inaugural team of educators at the National Museum of American History that facilitated visits for infants and toddlers in the early-learning exhibit, Wegmans Wonderplace. <\/em>As the Education Registrar and later the School & Family Programs Manager at the HistoryMiami Museum, she acted as the museum\u2019s liaison to Miami-Dade County Head Start Schools.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thuvia has presented at national and international conferences on topics such as \u201cHow to Turn the Parliament into an Educational Space for Democracy\u201d, \u201cAudience Research for Education in an Online-Only Environment\u201d, and \u201cThe Role of Academic Standards in Museum Education.\u201d Among the awards she has received during her career, she is particularly proud of a Peer Award for Upholding and Advancing Curiosity reflecting her drive to inspire learning for visitors of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
