Of course I loved every second of my trip abroad.. but I had no idea how amazing it would feel to step off of the plane in Atlanta, and to simply be back in my hometown. Seeing the Atlanta skyline, and of course my family, after all of these months was indescribable. However my exhaustion soon caught up to me, and after greeting family and speaking for a couple of hours the only thing on my mind was sleep. I’m not sure if it was the long flight and jet lag that tired me out or simply the comfort being home and having the opportunity to truly relax, but my bed was easily my best friend for the next couple of days. However, there hasn’t been TOO much time to relax. I’m still trying to see all of my extended family and friends while completing school related activities before my return to Rollins College.
Although I have quickly readapted to life and the culture in the States, there are several differences that I have noticed about myself. Primarily is my peaked interest in International events – especially in Spain, my increased consciousness about my electricity usage and making a greater effort to conserve it and most importantly, the feeling of affirmation that I have made the best career choice for me. Im looking forward to getting back on campus and continuing my studies in International business in the spring.
