These past two weeks have been an absolute whirlwind! In just two weeks I have traveled more than I have in my entire life. Starting off the trip in Fiji was absolutely unbelievable. I had never been somewhere and been completely surrounded by so much beauty. Everyone there was so genuine and incredibly friendly. I had never experienced anything like it. Fiji was a great place to relax and get over the terrible jet lag! Having this pre-excursion trip was such a unique way to get to know and bond the island’s natives and with the rest of the people in the program. We truly got together so well and it was so hard to say goodbye to my new friends when the time came to fly down to my new home in Dunedin.
Once I arrived in Dunedin I was filled with so many emotions, once again. I was anxious, excited, nervous, scared, but mostly I was relieved to officially be moved into my flat. I already want to see and do so much around this beautiful city! I’m excited for my classes to start and even more excited to meet some local Kiwis and get more involved with the community.
I’m ready to take on this adventure and to see what kind of crazy things New Zealand throws my way!
