As I’m sure any student will tell you, one of the best parts about studying abroad is how easy it is to travel to totally different places. During my six weeks in Madrid, I had the pleasure of traveling inside and outside of Spain. One of the most fun weekends we had during our six weeks was the trip to Candelario. Candelario is a small town with a population of less than 900 people. This weekend was an incredible bonding experience for our whole program. Candelario also showed us so much about the traditional Spanish culture. There are still visible pieces of ancient culture left in the town, such as how they dried their meat to make chorizo and how they held their cattle back. It was also very cool to see and drink all the natural water running through the town. Overall, I think we all agree that it was one of the best weekends we had during our six weeks in Spain!
